Quick answer
Where can I buy pure honey from Quillabamba, Peru?
At Miel de Sicriyoc we harvest 100% pure honey in the high jungle of Quillabamba, at around 1,050 metres, and send it straight from the apiary. We have wildflower, coffee-blossom and native stingless-bee (chuncho) honey, unpasteurised and never blended. Order on WhatsApp with shipping to Cusco, the Sacred Valley and across Peru, or come and visit the apiary in Sicriyoc.
Why is Sicriyoc honey different?
Sicriyoc sits in the high jungle above Quillabamba, in La Convención, the province with the most beekeepers in Cusco and one of the best-known honey areas in Peru. At this altitude the forest and coffee blossom give the honey an aroma and body you will not find in industrial honey.
We harvest it ourselves and jar it without pasteurising or thinning it with syrups. It is truly raw honey, which is why it crystallises over time, a natural sign that it is pure. See the origin on Our honey and learn how to recognise pure honey.
What honey varieties do we have?
- High-jungle wildflower: the everyday honey, floral and balanced, from the Sicriyoc forest.
- Coffee-blossom honey: the bees forage the coffee flower of Quillabamba; aromatic and mild.
- Chuncho honey: from native stingless bees (meliponas), thinner and the most prized in the area.
We explain each one on The honey.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Sicriyoc honey cost?
The price depends on the jar size and the variety. Pure honey from this area usually runs between S/ 20 and S/ 35 for a 500 g jar; chuncho honey is the most prized. Message us on WhatsApp and we will send the current list and available sizes.
How do I know your honey is 100% pure?
It is raw honey, unpasteurised and never mixed with syrups. Over time it crystallises, which is a natural sign of purity. In a glass of cold water, a drop of pure honey sinks to the bottom without dissolving right away. We explain every home test on The honey guide.
Do you ship to Cusco and across Peru?
Yes. We deliver in Quillabamba and Cusco, arrange shipping to the Sacred Valley, and dispatch anywhere in Peru by carrier. Message us on WhatsApp with your city and we will confirm the cost and delivery time.
What is chuncho honey?
It is honey from native stingless bees, known as meliponas or chuncho bees. It is thinner, slightly acidic and highly valued locally. It is produced in small amounts, which is why it is the most prized variety.
What is coffee-blossom honey?
It is the honey bees make when they forage the coffee flower, very common in Quillabamba because it is coffee country. It tends to be aromatic, light in colour and mild in taste. It is a seasonal honey, tied to when the coffee blooms.
Can I visit the apiary in Sicriyoc?
Yes. We offer guided visits to the apiary in Sicriyoc, where you meet the bees, watch how the honey is harvested and taste honey fresh from the comb. It is a great activity if you are passing through Quillabamba or the Sacred Valley. Arrange your visit on WhatsApp.
The honey crystallised, has it gone bad?
No. Honey turning thick or grainy is normal and a sign that it is pure and raw. Crystallisation depends on the flowers and the temperature. To make it liquid again, warm it gently in a water bath, staying below 40 °C so you do not damage it.
